Joey works across the street from our church, so on days when I bring him lunch we head on over and eat lunch in the church gallery. One day we walked in and I noticed something on the floor. At first I thought nothing of it, there always seems to be something going on in the lobby, but then it moved! It was a baby snake hanging out in the middle of the church.
Luckily there was someone from the church in the gallery already and I gave them a heads up while Joey decided to get as close to it as possible...of course. The lady from church said it is actually a common fall time occurrence and that she had just recently commented that there hadn't been any snakes yet.
I snapped a few shots with my point and shoot from a safe distance, while she went to get someone to take it out to the field. Someone did take it out, and then brought it BACK in to show someone, but ended up freaking a bunch of people out in the process. It was quite interesting. I knew something was up when he came back from outside with the dust pan (which is what he put the snake in) held far away from himself.
It kind of freaks me out in a way. Should I be watching out where I step when I go to church on Sundays now? Oh no!
