New Jewelry Organizer

A few months ago I went on a quest for a DIY jewelry organizer. I have always had my jewelry in a bad organizer I purchased at Walmart. Works pretty well for earrings, but necklaces can get a bit tangled (I even had one break form being so tangled!) I also found myself not always opening it to put away my earrings, so earrings would pile up on the bathroom counter. I am sure hubby loved that!

So I finally found one I really wanted to make and went about making it. I went "shopping" in my mother's basement...which I love doing, you can find such treasures in the things that she has! She was generous enough to let go of a couple of picture frames for my cause. She is so supportive!

Next I headed to Home Depot and bought some peg board. Then I grabbed some spray paint, hanging hardware, and wood glue at Walmart. I glued the peg board to the frames, then painted the frames (though I didn't do so great, but I don't much mind!) Now they are hanging in the bathroom and I love putting my earrings on them and getting to see them all displayed for my choosing! There is some glue peeking through, but I can fine tune the look eventually. I am just glad they are doing their duty.

I tried to buy some fun knobs to use to hang necklaces, but the peg board wasn't thick enough for them to work. I have decided to simply use peg board hooks unless I happen to find something more decorative. I love being organized!
